A Not-So-Spooky Sanctuary

St. John’s is right in the middle of a high-traffic, trick-or-treat hotspot in San Francisco. Every year, thousands of kids and families pass by, and we open our doors to offer candy and a quiet spot for them rest.

We also decorate the sanctuary in a fun and not-so-spooky style. Here, we used long rolls of fabric hung through the rafters illuminated with LED uplights. We suspended a spiderweb made out of string and offered a “make your own spider” craft. The pumpkins were donated by congregants.
