Paper Planes for Paul

For our worship series on Paul’s letter to the Philippians, I wanted to evoke the words of Paul traveling far and wide to the churches in his care. The paper airplane was the perfect symbol.

I folded dozens of planes and then suspended them to a “frame” of fishing line that criss-crossed the sanctuary. To add a little bit of magic, I created a little “desk” on our communion table and made it appear as though the letters were floating off the desk and transforming fold-by-fold from normal paper into paper airplanes.
